Ministry of Rural Development and National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) felicitate 75 Divyangjan with Hunarbaaz Awards

  • The virtual award ceremony was organised by NIRDPR with MoRD, in association with State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and Rural Self-employment Training Institutes.
  • The awards are given to the candidates who were trained through Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) schemes
  • National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad

About Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI)

RSETIs are Rural Self Employment Training Institutes,  an initiative of Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to have dedicated infrastructure in each district of the country to impart training and skill upgradation of rural youth geared towards entrepreneurship development. 

  • RSETIs are managed by banks with active co-operation from the Government of India and State Governments.
  • RSETI concept is based on RUDSETI (Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute), a society established jointly by three agencies i.e. Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank and Sri Manjunatheswara Trust based at Ujire in Karnataka.
  • One RSETI is established in every district in the country. Concerned bank is the lead bank in the district takes responsibility for creating and managing it.
  • Government of India will provide one - time grant assistance, upto a maximum of Rs. 1 crore for meeting the expenditure on construction of building and other infrastructure.
  • After successful completion of the training, they will be provided with credit linkage assistance by the banks to start their own entrepreneurial ventures.
  • At least 70% of the trainees should be from the rural BPL category certified by the DRDA. Proper weightage, as per SGSY guidelines will be given to SC/STs, minorities, physically challenged and women.
  • Certificates issued by an RSETI will be recognised by all banks for purposes of extending credit to the trainees. It means that RSETI trained rural youths will be free to access any scheduled bank for loan/credit.

PM launches Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

  • Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will create a seamless online platform that will enable interoperability within the digital health ecosystem

The flagship digital initiative involves the creation of not just a unique health ID for every citizen, but also a digital healthcare professionals and facilities registry.

Ayushman Bharat – Digital Mission will now connect the digital health solutions of hospitals across the country with each other. Under this, the countrymen will now get a digital health ID. The health record of every citizen will be digitally protected. Through the Digital Health ID, the patient himself and the doctor can also check the old records if needed. Moreover, there will also be registration of doctors, nurses and paramedics. All the hospitals, clinics, labs, chemist shops in the country will also be registered. In short, this digital mission will bring every stakeholder related to health together on a single platform.

Successful Maiden Flight Test of Akash Prime Missile

  • A new version of the Akash Missile – ‘Akash Prime’ has been successfully flight tested from Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha on 27 September 2021.

MoU signed between Royal Navy of Oman and Indian Navy

  • Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser bin Mohsen Al-Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman (CRNO) and Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Indian Navy signed an MoU for exchange of White Shipping Information on 27 September 2021

Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh took over as the 34th Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC) on September 27, 2021.

Government’s Borrowing Plan for Second Half (H2) of FY 2021-22

  • The Government of India, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, has finalized its borrowing programme for the second half (H2) of FY 2021-22.
  • Out of gross market borrowing of ₹12.05 lakh crore projected for FY 2021-22 in the Union Budget, ₹7.24 lakh crore (60 %) was planned to be borrowed in first half (H1).
  • The effective borrowing in H1 of FY 2021-22 was ₹7.02 lakh crore. The Government now plans to borrow the balance ₹5.03 lakh crore in second half year (H2) of FY 2021-22.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries, in association with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, virtually launched the PMFME Scheme Seed Capital Module

  • Urban SHGs can avail Rs.40,000 Seed Capital through the DAY-NULM MIS Portal

Launched under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the PMFME Scheme aims to enhance the competitiveness and promote formalization of the unorganized micro—food processing enterprises in India. The scheme aims to empower the self-help groups by:

  • Seed capital support of Rs.40,000 per SHG member;
  • Credit linked subsidy for capital investment up to 35% with a ceiling of Rs. 10 lakh;
  • Credit linked grant support up to 35% for establishing common infrastructure;

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to establish waste to energy plant in Delhi to convert Municipal Solid Waste into Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) for use as fuel for running vehicles.
