- India emerges on top of the medal tally at the Shooting Junior World Championships with 40 medals including 16 Golds.

- World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992
- The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year.
- The theme for the World Mental Health Day 2021 is 'mental health in an unequal world.'
Railways successfully operated two long haul freight trains ‘Trishul’ and ‘Garuda’ for the first time over South Central Railway
- Trishul is SCR’s first long haul comprising of three freight trains, i.e., 177 wagons. This train was started on 07.10.2021 from Kondapalli station of Vijayawada division to Khurda division of East Coast Railway
- SCR followed it up with running of yet another similar one named Garuda on 08.10.2021 from Raichur of Guntakal division to Manuguru of Secunderabad division
PM launched the Indian Space Association (ISpA)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the Indian Space Association (ISpA), an industry body consisting of various stakeholders of the Indian space domain.
The members of the organization include government bodies such as Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and private telecom companies such as Bharti Airtel’s One Web, Tata Group’s Nelco, L&T, MapMyIndia, and others.
One of the main goals of the organisation is to supplement the government’s efforts towards making India a global leader in commercial space-based excursions.
ISpA will be represented by leading domestic and global corporations that have advanced capabilities in space and satellite technologies
The founding members include telecom service providers such as Bharti Airtel, engineering firm Larson & Toubro, and other companies such as Nelco of Tata Group, OneWeb, Mapmyindia, Walchandnagar Industries and Alpha Design Technologies.
The country has also established IN-SPACe to facilitate private sector participation. IN-SPACe will act as a single window independent agency in all matters related to the space sector.

About IN-SPACe
The new Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), will assess the needs and demands of private players, including educational and research institutions, and, explore ways to accommodate these requirements in consultation with ISRO.
Existing ISRO infrastructure, both ground- and space-based, scientific and technical resources, and even data are planned to be made accessible to interested parties to enable them to carry out their space-related activities.
IN-SPACe is supposed to be a facilitator, and also a regulator. It will act as an interface between ISRO and private parties, and assess how best to utilise India’s space resources and increase space-based activities.
IN-SPACe is the second space organization created by the government in the last two years. In the 2019 Budget, the government had announced the setting up of a New Space India Limited (NSIL), a public sector company that would serve as a marketing arm of ISRO
Its main purpose is to market the technologies developed by ISRO and bring it more clients that need space-based services.

International Day Of The Girl Child is celebrated on October 11 and is dedicated to the growth of girls around the world.
