Webinar on the importance of Poshan Vatika for alleviation of malnutrition organised
- The Ministry of Ayush and Ministry of Women and Child Development jointly organised a webinar on the importance of ‘Poshan Vatika’ for alleviation of malnutrition today.
- Ministry of Ayush will collaborate with 3,000 Aanganwadis to take forward the campaign of establishing Poshan Vatikas and will also decide the nutritional and herbal trees that will be planted there.
MoU Signed between All India institute of Aryuveda and Western Sydney University, Australia to appoint an Academic Chair in Ayurveda
- All India Institute of Ayurveda under Ministry of Ayush, signed a MoU in coordination with NICM Western Sydney University Australia, in virtual mode, to appoint an Academic Chair in Ayurveda
- The new Academic Chair will undertake academic and collaborative research activities in Ayurveda, including herbal medicine and yoga, as well as design academic standards and short-term/medium-term courses and educational guidelines
- The appointment of the chair is jointly funded by the Ministry of Ayush and Western Sydney University and anticipated to commence early in 2022.
Ministry of Coal Constitutes Task Force and Expert Committee to Prepare Road Map for Coal based Hydrogen Production
- On India’s 75th Independence Day, the Prime Minster announced a Hydrogen Mission. Coal is one of the important sources of hydrogen making (Brown Hydrogen) apart from Natural Gas (Grey hydrogen) and renewable energy (Green Hydrogen) through electrolysis.
- However, Coal has not been encouraged elsewhere because of the fear that while extracting hydrogen via coal (from the moisture embedded in coal) there may be carbon emission. Almost 100% of Hydrogen produced in India is through Natural Gas.
- Globally, 73 MT Hydrogen is used for refining, ammonia making and other pure use and about 42 MT is used for Methanol, steel making and other mixed uses.
- Cost of Hydrogen produced from coal can be cheaper and less sensitive to imports when compared with hydrogen production through electrolysis and Natural Gas respectively.
- In light of the above, Ministry of Coal has constituted 2 Committees today, one to oversee the program and another of experts to give guidance to the Ministry. This is aimed for contributing to PM's agenda of a hydrogen-based economy in a clean manner.

India Post Payments Bank, LIC Housing Finance announces Strategic Partnership for Offering Home Loan Products
- India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) under Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications and LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL), the country’s premier housing finance player, today announced a strategic partnership for providing home loan products to over 4.5 crore customers of IPPB.
- Through its robust and extensive network of 650 branches and more than 136,000 banking access points, IPPB will make LICHFL’s home loan products accessible to its customers pan-India.
- IPPB’s on-ground workforce of nearly 200,000 postal employees (Postmen and GraminDakSevaks) equipped with micro-ATMs and biometric devices through its innovative Doorstep Banking Service will play a significant role in offering LICHFL’s housing loans.
About LIC HFL Home Loans:
- LIC Housing Finance Ltd, offers home loan starting from 6.66% for loans up to Rs 50 lakh for salaried individuals. The rate of interest offered is linked to the borrower’s creditworthiness, as reflected by their CIBIL scores.
- LICHFL’s unique home loan product - GrihaVarishtha- is designed for retired or serving employees of PSU insurers, Central/State government, railways, defence, banks etc. entitled to pension under Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.
- The age of the borrower at entry of the loan can be up to 65 years and the loan tenure is till the attainment of 80 years of age or maximum up to 30 years, whichever is earlier.

Union Minister of Culture Shri G.K Reddy launches program 'BujurgonkiBaat–DeshKeSaath'
- The book “Gita Govinda :Jaydeva’s Divine Odyssey” by Dr.Utpal K. Banerjee , along with an exhibition on “Gita Govinda” also launched
- The programme 'BujurgonkiBaat–DeshKeSaath’ aims at enhancing the interaction between the youth and the elder persons who are 95 years and above.
- The exhibition showcases collection of paintings on the theme of Krishna from various schools of art including Amber, Kangra among other.
- Gita Govinda is originally written by 12th century poet Jayadeya.

Shri Bhupender Yadav dedicates first functional Smog Tower of India, situated at Anand Vihar in New Delhi.
- The Union Minister, who was speaking at an event in New Delhi today to mark the second International Day of clean Air For Blue Skies, stated that the Central Government has launched several initiatives to improve air quality in the entire country, with the Prime Minister himself setting a goal for holistic improvement in air quality in more than 100 cities. “86 cities showed better air quality in 2019 in comparison to 2018, which increased to 104 cities in 2020”
- The tower has been built by Tata Projects Limited with NBCC (India) Ltd. as the project management consultant.
The event also witnessed launch of a portal named “PRANA” – Portal for Regulation of Air-pollution in Non-Attainment citiesunder the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
- The portal (prana.cpcb.gov.in) will support tracking of physical as well as financial status of city air action plan implementation and disseminate information on air quality to public.
- So far, 375.44 crores have been released to 114 cities during FY 2019-20 & 2020-21 for initiating actions under city action plan. Further, 4400 cores have been released to 42 cities with million plus population as per recommendations of 15th Finance Commission report for FY 2020-21
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) are implementing National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) in the country since 2019 with targets to achieve 20 to 30 % reduction in Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5 ) concentrations by 2024 across the country.
- Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment, forest and Climate Change, Shri Ashwini Choubey while addressing the event said that Clean Air is intricately linked to a host of benefits for the human being and gave the slogan “Swachh Pawan, Neel Gagan”
‘Food Processing Week’ organized by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'
- As a part of the celebration, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries is celebrating ‘Food Processing Week’ from 6th to 12th September, 2021, under which, the Ministry is organizing various programs.
- A Workshop on 'One District, One Product' was organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Department of Agriculture, Lakshadweep.
- An amount of Rs.1.06 Crore as Seed Capital amount has been transferred to 12 District Project Management Units (DPMU) of SRLM for 311 SHG enterprises under the PMFME Scheme in the State of Chhattisgarh.

- This is the 7th Edition of the Conference and is being held under the aegis of Materials Research Society of India in association with Anna University, SKUAST-K, NIT Mizoram, SSM College of Engineering, IIT Madras, SKIMS, M G University Kerela, and in collaboration with Nanoscale Research Facility (NRF), IIT Delhi.

- The 75 countries include Jamaica, Ireland, Turkey, Kenya, Mongolia, Israel, Finland, France, and Canada, Singapore, Russia, US, Indonesia, Greece and Cyprus among others.
- The corner will be an exclusive space to promote GI tagged tribal art and craft products besides natural and organic products.
- TRIFED will also be establishing an Atmanirbhar corners in 75 embassies of foreign countries in India.
