Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare signs 5 MOUs with private companies for taking forward Digital Agriculture
  • MOUs were signed for pilot projects with CISCO, Ninjacart, Jio Platforms Limited, ITC Limited and NCDEX e-Markets Limited (NeML).
  • Based on these pilot projects farmers will be able to take informed decisions on what crop to grow, what variety of seed to use and what best practises to adopt to maximise the yield
  • A Digital agriculture mission has been initiated for 2021 -2025 by government for projects based on new technologies like artificial intelligence, block chain, remote sensing and GIS technology, use of drones and robots etc. 
Index Numbers of Wholesale Price in India for the month of August, 2021(Base Year: 2011-12)
  • The Office of Economic Adviser, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade is releasing index numbers of wholesale price in India (Base Year: 2011-12) for the month of August, 2021 (Provisional) and for the month of June, 2021 (Final)
  • Provisional figures of Wholesale Price Index (WPI) are released on 14th of every month (or next working day) with a time lag of two weeks of the reference month and compiled with data received from institutional sources and selected manufacturing units across the country. 
  • After 10 weeks, the index is finalized and final figures are released and then frozen thereafter.
  • The annual rate of inflation is 11.39% (Provisional) for the month of August, 2021 (over August, 2020) as compared to 0.41% in August, 2020.
  • The annual rate of inflation is 11.16% (Final) for the month of July, 2021

11 States meet the target for capital expenditure in Q-1 of 2021-22
  • Eleven States namely, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand have achieved the target set by the Ministry of Finance for the capital expenditure in the 1st Quarter of 2021-22
  • As an incentive, these States have been granted permission by the Department of Expenditure to borrow an additional amount of Rs. 15,721 crore.
  • The additional open market borrowing permission granted is equivalent to 0.25 percent of their Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).
  • Next review of Capital expenditure of States will be undertaken by the Department of Expenditure in December, 2021. In this round, capital expenditure achieved by the States till 30th September, 2021 will be assessed
  • Third review will be done in the month of March, 2022 on the basis of capital expenditure incurred by the State during the first three quarters of the year 2021-22.
  • The capital expenditure-linked borrowing ceiling of 0.50 percent of GSDP will be allowed to those States who will achieve actual capital expenditure of at least 45 percent of the target by 30th September 2021 or 70 percent of the target by 31st December 2021.

  • Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has invited US companies to invest in India and contribute in realising the dream of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. 
  • He was delivering the inaugural address at the 18th India-US Economic Summit, on the theme ‘Bouncing Back – Resilient Recovery Path Post COVID-19’, organized by Indo-American Chamber of Commerce through video conferencing on September 15, 2021.
The Indian Naval Placement Agency (INPA) and Flipkart today signed an MoU, through which the two entities will explore opportunities for the recruitment naval of veterans at the Flipkart Group.
  • Flipkart is undertaking this program under its ‘Diversity and Inclusion Charter’ under the aegis of ‘FlipMarch’ that aims to offer Ex-Servicemen opportunities in line with their qualifications, experience, and attributes acquired during their service period.
Indian Military Contingent Participates in the 6th Edition of Exercise SCO Peaceful Mission 2021 at Orenburg, Russia
  • Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise PEACEFUL MISSION  is a Multilateral Exercise, which is conducted biennially as part of military diplomacy between Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.
  • The 6th edition of Exercise PEACEFUL MISSION is being hosted by Russia in the Orenburg Region of South West Russia from 13 to 25 September 2021.
Kushinagar Airport declared as Customs Notified Airport
  • The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has declared Kushinagar Airport as a Customs notified airport. This would also facilitate international passenger movements including that of Buddhist pilgrims.
  • Kushinagar Airport is an international airport situated in Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Most prestigious award in the field of Rajbhasha i.e. “Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar”
  • Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd.(RINL) - Vishakhapatnam Steel plant (VSP), under Ministry of Steel is bestowed with ‘Rajbhasha Keerti Puraskar’-FIRST PRIZE for effective implementation of Official Language Hindi for the year 2020-21
  • The highest and most prestigious award in the field of Rajbhasha i.e. “Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar” was presented to National Mineral Development Ltd. (NMDC), under Ministry of Steel during the Rajbhasha Diwas Samaroh in New Delhi yesterday
NITI Aayog, RMI, and RMI India Launch ‘Shoonya’ Campaign
  • NITI Aayog, with RMI and RMI India’s support, today launched Shoonya—an initiative to promote zero-pollution delivery vehicles by working with consumers and industry.
  • The campaign aims to accelerate adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the urban deliveries segment and create consumer awareness about the benefits of zero-pollution delivery.
