IFFCO introduces world's first Nano Urea Liquid
Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) said that it has introduced the world's first Nano Urea Liquid for farmers across the world.
It has been developed through a proprietary patented technology by Nano Biotechnology Research Centre, Kalol, Gujarat.
The Nano Urea Liquid has been found effective and efficient for plant nutrition which increases the production with improved nutritional quality
The Nano urea liquid fertilizer contains 40,000 ppm (parts per million) nitrogen in a 500 milli litre (ml) bottle.
- 40,000 ppm of nitrogen is equivalent to nitrogen nutrient provided by one bag of conventional urea.
There has been an 8% increase in the yields during the farmer field trials (FFTs) of nano liquid fertilizer.
- FFT were conducted on the basis of multi-location and multi-crop trials undertaken under National Agriculture Research System (NARS) on 43 crops.
- IFFCO has priced Nano urea liquid at Rs 240 per 500 ml bottle.
- Nano Urea Liquid is already included in Fertiliser Control Order (FCO)
About FCO : Fertilizer Control Order, 1985 is administered by the Department of Agriculture Cooperation, under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
- FCO lays down the fertilizer-wise detailed specifications for sale in India for agricultural purposes.

e-Paudhshala Mobile Application Launched for Free Distribution of Plants from Government Nurseries by Haryana Government
Addressing the gathering at 72nd ‘Van Mahotsav’ through video conferencing, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday appealed people to take a ‘Green Pledge’ of planting at least one tree during their lifetime.
Considering the importance of tree plantation CM also launched a citizen- centric mobile app named 'e-Paudhshala' for free distribution of saplings from government nurseries.
All saplings to be distributed to the panchayats under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan launched by the Prime Minister. The saplings to be distributed through this mobile application under our Paudhgiri Yojana. All citizens and government offices can get saplings from the nursery of the forest department by placing their demand through this app
Under the Paudhgiri Abhiyan, an amount of Rs 50 is given as an incentive every 6 months to the children studying from class 6 to 12 who take care of their planted plant for 3 years.
Government to Set up/Upgrade Two Lakh Micro Food Processing Enterprises by 2024-25

Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries said that as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Initiative, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries is launching a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for setting up or upgrading two lakh Micro Food Processing Enterprises.
These enterprises will be established or upgraded through credit linked subsidy during 5 years from 2020-21 to 2024-25 with an outlay of Rs. 10,000 crores. The minister said the Central Scheme-PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME) offers financial, technical & business support for these enterprises.
In addition, the MoFPI has been implementing Central Sector Umbrella Scheme i.e. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) since 2016-17 for the growth as well as development of food processing sector that includes processing of agro- products thereby increasing the income of farmers.
The component schemes of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana are as follows;
- Mega Food Park
- Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure
- Infrastructure for Agro-Processing Clusters
- Creation /Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities
- Creation of Backward & Forward linkages
- Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure
- Human Resource and Institutions
- Operation Greens
Under the component schemes of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana, MoFPI offers mostly credit linked financial assistance in the form of grants-in-aid to entrepreneurs for establishing food processing or preservation industries.
Until now, the Ministry has approved 41 Mega food Parks, 353 Cold Chain projects, 292 Food Processing Units, 63 Agro Processing Clusters, 63 Creation of Backward & Forward Linkages Projects and 6 Operation Green projects across India under corresponding component schemes of PMKSY.
About PM FME Scheme : PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) scheme was launched on 29th June 2020 as a part of “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan”
PM FME Scheme to generate total investment of Rs 35,000 crore and 9 lakh skilled and semi-skilled employment
With a view to providing financial, technical and business support for upgradation of existing micro food processing enterprises, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has launched an all India “Centrally Sponsored PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PM FME) scheme” to be implemented over a period of five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25 with an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore.
Fund Sharing : The expenditure under the scheme would to be shared in 60:40 ratio between Central and State Governments, in 90:10 ratio with North Eastern and Himalayan States, 60:40 ratio with UTs with legislature and 100% by Centre for other UTs.
ODOP : The Scheme adopts One District One Product (ODODP) approach to reap benefit of scale in terms of procurement of inputs, availing common services and marketing of products. The States would identify food product for a district keeping in view the existing clusters and availability of raw material
Funding : Existing Individual micro food processing units desirous of upgradation of their unit can avail credit-linked capital subsidy @35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs.10 lakh per unit
Seed capital @ Rs. 40,000/- per SHG member would be provided for working capital and purchase of small tools.
FPOs/ SHGs/ producer cooperatives would be provided credit linked grant of 35% for capital investment along the value chain.
Support would be provided through credit linked grant @ 35% for development of common infrastructure including common processing facility, lab, warehouse, cold storage, packaging and incubation center through FPOs/SHGs/cooperatives or state owned agencies or private enterprise to use by micro units in the cluster
Training : The Scheme places special focus on capacity building and research. NIFTEM and IIFPT, two academic and research institutions under MOFPI along with State Level Technical Institutions selected by the States would be provided support for training of units, product development, appropriate packaging and machinery for micro units.
In a bid to boost exports of agricultural produce from Ladakh and enhance farmers' incomes, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, or Apeda, has decided to promote and brand organic items from the region.
The initiative will be executed in association with officials of the Union territory as well as the Defence Institute of High-Altitude Research (DIHAR)
The focus of this collaborations is to ensure that Ladakh achieves the goal of becoming an organic region by 2025
